It is directly related to the presence of scattering particles in the water column. This product is derived from OLCI and remapped at nominal 300m spatial resolution using cylindrical equirectangular projection. '''Description of observation methods/instruments:''' Ocean colour technique exploits the emerging electromagnetic radiation from the sea surface in different wavelengths. The spectral variability of this signal defines the so called ocean colour which is affected by the presence of phytoplankton. By comparing reflectances at different wavelengths and calibrating the result against in-situ measurements, an estimate of in water absorption parameters can be derived.
