(2023), exploité par le Laboratoire d'Étude en Géophysique et Océanographie Spatiale (LEGOS) et développé dans le cadre des projets ANR FORESEA et TOSCA SAREDA. Ce système s'appuie sur un modèle mécaniste des populations de sargasses, le modèle NEMO-Sarg 1.0 (Jouanno et al. 2021, 2023, 2025), qui intègre à la fois un modèle de transport et un modèle physiologique des macro-algues. La version d'ensemble du modèle de sargasses avec une résolution horizontal à 1/4° a été implémentée et permet la production mensuelle de prévisions à 7 mois, initialisé avec l'estimation de la couverture surfacique des sargasses en quasi temps-réel du Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer MODIS (Berline & Descloitres, 2021). Les prévisions saisonnières opérationnelles sur les sargasses (septembre 2025 - en cours) sont produites à l'échelle mondiale par Mercator Ocean International, sur la base de la même configuration mécanistique NEMO-Sarg 1.0 (Jouanno et al., 2021, 2023, 2025, voir détails en 2.1). La biomasse des sargasses est initialisée chaque mois à l'aide d'estimations en temps quasi réel dérivées des observations satellitaires OLCI (DOI : 10.24400/527896/a01-2022.007), fournissant une représentation actualisée des concentrations en surface. Ce cadre opérationnel mondial complète ainsi la configuration régionale de l'IRD et étend la capacité de prévision à l'ensemble du bassin atlantique.
