Environment description
ICES Working Group on North Atlantic Salmon (WGNAS) is responsible for the annual assessment of the status of salmon stocks across the North Atlantic. WGNAS also develops advice on a wide range of other issues to support NASCO in exercising its responsibilities for the conservation, restoration, enhancement, and rational management of wild salmon in the North Atlantic. Output: annual reports (pdf) but also, in cooperation with Eurostat and FAO, ICES prepares and publishes the official catch statistics dataset for the Northeast Atlantic (FAO major fishing area 27): http://ices.dk/marine-data/dataset-collections/Pages/Fish-catch-and-stock-assessment.aspx
