1- Funiculina quadrangularis presence–absence data compiled from the MEDITS database.

2- Environmental predictors extracted from Bio-Oracle and EMODnet for present conditions and two future climate scenarios (SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5) by 2050 and 2100.

3- Records resampled to reduce spatial autocorrelation: 30 datasets generated through bootstrapping after variogram analysis to determine the optimal resolution of the resampling grid.

4- Each dataset split into independent calibration and testing subsets using spatial blocks (blockCV).

5- Species distribution predicted using four algorithms: GAM, GLM, RF, and GBM.

6- Model performance evaluated (AUS and TSS). Only the best-performing models were selected, and their predictions averaged in an ensemble model weighted by TSS.

7- Future projections produced under climate change scenarios.

8- Binary presence–absence maps generated by applying a 0.52 probability threshold to define presence.

9- Differences between present and future predictions used to identify climate refugia (areas remaining suitable for the species in the future), habitat losses and gains.

10- Model disagreement among individual models included in the ensemble = standard deviation of predictions.

11- Environmental extrapolation assessed with the ExDet tool, based on Mahalanobis distance between calibration and projection spaces:

- Univariate extrapolation: values outside the calibration range for at least one predictor.

- Analogous conditions: environments within the calibration space.
