Esnandes Salt Marsh Multispectral Drone Survey (september 2025)

The multispectral images of the study area were acquired by drone on 18 September 2025 using the DJI Mavic 3M RTK. The orthomosaic was generated from 5,128 images across five spectral bands (Green, Red, Red Edge, Near-Infrared (NIR), and Alpha), captured at an altitude of 100 meters (2025). The ground resolution achieved was 4.568 cm/pixel, covering a surveyed area of approximately 0.94 km². The Digital Surface Models (DSMs) were resampled to a resolution of 10 cm.

Statement

Multispectral images were acquired using the Mavic 3M RTK drone from the LIENSs UAV platform. Both the drone acquisitions and photogrammetric processing were carried out by Natacha Volto (LIENSs) using Pix4Dfields, without the use of ground control targets during the initial processing. The resulting multispectral orthomosaic was then georeferenced in ArcGIS Pro using 42 highly visible control points, which were identified and matched in both the multispectral and RGB orthomosaics generated from the same drone surveys.

These drone surveys were conducted as part of the ESA Coastal Blue Project, coordinated by Christine Dupuy at the LIENSs Laboratory.
