Wave hindcast based on WAVEWATCH-III (r) with parameterization from Alday et al 2021.
Forced by ERA5 winds, CMEMS-GLOBCURRENT currents, SSMI ice mask and ALTIBERG iceberg mask on a global grid nested with regional subgrids at higher resolution.
model outputs are provided over :
-a global grid at 30-min spatial resolution on a rectilinear grid
-Atlantic North-East, Atlantic North-West, Africa, Pacific East at 10-min spatial resolution on rectilinear grids
-New Caledonia and Caribean Sea at 3-min spatial resolution on rectilinear grids
-Arctic sea at 12km spatial resolution on curvilinear grid.
The dataset contains :
-gridded data representing the integrated wave parameters at each grid point, every 3 hours.
-2d spectral data representing the wave spectrum over frequencies and directions at 12 490 locations, every 3 hours
-1d spectral data representing the wave spectrum over frequencies at 12 490 locations, every 3 hours
The validation has been done by both sea surface wave heights estimated by altimeters (provided by CCI Sea State) and moored buoys (provided by INSITU-TAC)
