- The border between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Croatia was determined by the final Award of 29. June 2017 in the arbitration concerning a territorial and maritime dispute between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Croatia. DTM and data covers only the survey area which does not correspond to the limit of sea area under Slovenian jurisdiction, therefore the area of DTM and data in this portal is without prejudice to the border between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Croatia.

Vertical datum for the dataset is referring to Mean Lower Low Water Springs (MLLWS).
New surveys were carried out over a period of three years from 2016 to 2018. Where there is no new surveys, previous data from survey years 2008 and 2009 were used.
first year: small part of Izola survey 2008 (CDI: 4666_GIS_SurveySI_Izola)
second year: most of the Piran bay 2009 (CDI: 4666_GIS_SurveySI_Piran).
third year: Survey 2016 (CDI: 4666_GIS_SurveySI_2016),
forth year: Survey 2017 (CDI: 4666_GIS_SurveySI_2017) and
fifth year: Survey 2018 (CDI: 4666_GIS_SurveySI_2018).
